Lago bar grill wedding
Kat and Kyle's Lago bar grill wedding was one I was as excited as much as I was nervous to document. Upon meeting them, it was clear they were different than my usual couple. Therefore, their photos had to reflect that.During their personal vows, Kat called Kyle by the name 'Carl' which is an inside joke. But the officiant not knowing of it, thought he had said the groom's name wrong all along. He asked in panic if Carl was his name. The whole room burst out laughing and made this moment 'the wedding story' of this wedding. My absolute favorite moment though, was right after they walked down the aisle as husband and wife and Kyle checked out his wife in awe.Upon the request of the bride and groom, this wedding was photographed 100% documentary. Meaning, I wouldn't interfere or tell them where to stand. No bride and groom portraits and no first dance. Instead, they wanted to go celebrate where it all began.They met working at The grand in the ByWard market years ago. Right after their ceremony in the Vista room at Lago bar grill, they went in with their bridal party to have drinks and celebrate this full circle life moment. Kat was wearing a wedding dress that was jaw dropping worthy. A backless wedding dress from boutique 1861 paired with Badgley Mischka.The Lago bar grill decor was minimalist and modern. Lot's of white and greenery. Overlooking Dow's Lake, Lago is a fantastic venue for the celebratory wedding they both wanted.Kyle and Kat, thank you so much for having me. Your wedding day was a blast and truly unique. I love that you stayed authentic to the kind of day you wanted. You made me a better photographer. Thanks again for the whiskey!
